What we collect
- Enquiries. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- Donations. When you donate, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address, the amount, the fund you chose and whether the donation is one-off or monthly. We never see or store your full card details.
- Gift Aid. If you make a Gift Aid declaration we collect your full name, home address and postcode, and your confirmation that you are a UK taxpayer.
- Website visits. Our web host keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry (our legitimate interest in running the mosque).
- To process your donation, send your receipt, and manage any monthly donation (to perform our agreement with you).
- To claim Gift Aid from HMRC and keep the records HMRC requires (legal obligation).
- To send you an annual statement of your donations for the tax year (legitimate interest).
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Minara, which hosts and runs this website for us and processes data only on our instructions.
- Stripe, which processes donation payments.
- HMRC, when we claim Gift Aid on your donations.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to 2 years.
- Donation and Gift Aid records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as HMRC requires.
- Technical logs: up to 12 months.
